I have given away bags and bags of tomatoes.
I have
frozen them;
made fried green tomatoes;
pickled green tomatoes;
tomatoes and okra;
gazpacho;
cucumber and tomato salads
and lots of tomato sandwiches.
And now I have a tree full of figs and don’t really know what to do with them -- I can’t even find anyone who really likes them. Last night I made a small batch of fig preserves to see if we would like that and that recipe may be a winner. If so, I’ll probably be giving jars of fig preserves to everyone I know.
In spite of the horrible heat wave, the garden has been good to us this year.
